Playa del Carmen is a small town nestled in the heart of the Riviera Maya, along the Mexican Caribbean Coast. It is part of the Yucatan Peninsula and has the island of Cozumel to the East acting as a natural protection from the open sea. It is strategically positioned, being only a one-hour drive from either Cancun or Tulum, and a 45 minute ferry ride to Cozumel. The nearest international airport would be Cancun's, only 45 minutes away.
